We love loops so Nessie is a monster after our own hearts, what with his friendly smile and gently undulating body. That's how he’s depicted here at this Ness-Side roundabout but maybe the truth is a lot more scary. Click on the video to see a less cuddly version of the creature. Be warned though, the rare footage we managed to “capture” might give you nightmares. Go right at the roundabout and at the foot of the new Ness castle estate there is a car park and a gorgeous route for walkers and cyclists all the way to Loch Ness - and much of it takes you cross-country and back from the busy Dores Road. Meanwhile, walkers who have had enough already might want to go left at the roundabout and head back into town…unless you are up for the challenge of another 9 waypoints. In which case, go straight ahead and up the hill. No problem for you cyclists, we think. Oh, there’s also a supermarket near here in case you forgot to get something in for tea tonight. Mince ‘n’ tatties sounds good. Get the healthy kind.
