Ghost Buildings of Inverness ‘2’

Andrew’s history walk of ‘Ghost Buildings’ was so popular last year that he’s back with a new one! Come on a trip down memory lane and explore a now little known part of Inverness

You may know of ‘The Maggot’ at Nairn!? Inverness also had an area called The Maggot, come and find out more.

Where : Starting at 2.30pm from Inverness Library and lasting 1-1½hrs.

The library is by the bus station and Rose Street car park.

When : As part of the Walking and Wheeling Festival, tours will take place on Saturday 31st May, Thursday 5th and Saturday 7th June.

Cost : Free of charge but donations welcome.

Activity Level : Mainly walking on pavements around the city centre. Pedestrian crossings will be used as required. All weather clothing advised, one short, uphill gradient from the river back to the city centre.

The Maggot, which was originally an island, took its name from a chapel of St. Margaret and was situated between Waterloo Place, Glebe Street and the River Ness.
