Curlews & Canals

Join Highlife Highland Ranger John Orr for some fresh air and a 5km walk or wheel from Merkinch Local Nature Reserve to the seaward end of the Caledonian Canal. The theme of the walk will be Seashore Wildlife and local history, we will be looking out for wildlife all around us so bring binoculars if you have them - some will be available.

When : Wednesday 4th June, starting at 10.00am Duration : 2 hours

Where : Start at the Bus Turning circle at the end of Kessock Road

Type of Terrain : Good path on seawall and canal towpath

Cost : Highlife Highland Rangersask for donations for this event to help with their work, which goes towards education about, and protection of the nature of the Highlands. Please give what you feel you can afford. We suggest a minimum donation of £5 per person to cover our costs or £10 per person to further support our work.

* please be aware that there is a required £1 minimum donation. This covers Eventbrite fees and does not go to the Ranger service.*

Additional Information : Appropriate clothing and foot wear is required. Care needed to cross railway line, but the crossing point is ramped and levelled up to top of railway tracks.
