It’s a little haven of greenery and gurgling water in the heart of the city. The Ness islands offer walkers one of the best experiences as you zig-zag your way across footbridges under the evening glow of Victorian-style lampposts and strings of fairy lights. Look out for the tiny pet cemetery and the the fallen tree shaped like Nessie that snakes its way out of the water. The islands are a splendid spot for dog-walking or else take a seat on one of the many benches. As tempting as it might be to linger here, don’t! You have a long way to go in our Loop adventure.
