You’re now in downtown Inverness. We like saying that coz it makes us feel cool. Oh and look, a unicorn on an obelisk being pestered by falcons. Now here’s some trivia for you. Falcon Square isn’t named after the birds at all, but in memory of one John Falconer who owned the Falcon Foundry. The Foundry was located in that charming building that now houses a charity shop and pizza parlour. But wait, there’s more!. That building was actually moved brick-by-brick from its original location closer to the train station. OK, so now you have a choice of routes. You can scud straight down Academy Street but we recommend turning into Church Street which really is the historic heart of the city. It also offers a partial priority road for cyclists. Whichever way you go, let’s meet up at Chapel Street just before you hit the big roundabout and…wait for it…your final waypoint on the Loop! And if you’re only doing this loop from your armchair, well, we’ll forgive you just this once.
